Susan Wise
Susan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and received her Ph.D. from St. Louis University in Missouri. She enjoys working with children, teens, adults, families, and couples in a wide range of ages. She has a wide variety of experience working with clients with marriage and family, couple issues, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, self-harm/ suicidal ideation, substance/ alcohol use, chronic illness, ADHD geriatrics, developmental disabilities, abuse issues both sexual and emotional, and more. She enjoys working with LGBTQ+ clients including trans clients. Susan has extensive experience in group work, supervision/ management, chemical dependency, residential settings, and school settings in addition to extensive outpatient clinic experience. Susan also has training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strengths-based approaches, and dual diagnoses of substance / mental health issues. She has also developed her own program using an art-based method and uses it heavily in the therapy process. Susan sees the client as the true “expert” in their own life and she sees herself as a guide and mentor along the way. She likes to use humor and art while enlightening and enhancing positive behaviors.
