I truly believe that “Shame dies when stories are told in safe places.” I know you have a story, whatever it is that you are dealing with at the current moment, be it anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, imposter syndrome, relational issues, I know it comes with a story. It’s ok not to be ok at times. Further, do you think that you are a perfectionist? Do you have a hard time saying no? Have you been told you are too sensitive or that you care too much? Are you compulsively taking responsibility for the needs of others? Do you find yourself always being the caretaker? To the point that it mentally and physically starts affecting your day to day life? Have you become more isolated or are you relying on substances to help you calm down and cope? If the answer to any of the above is YES, I want you to consider that your sensitivity is a gift perhaps disguised in burnout, anxiety, substance use, depression and other physical and emotional distresses. You do have the right to be taken care of, to be listened to, to be thought worthy of attention. Your all-encompassing dutifulness got you here. You are not broken, but the world we live in is. Our ability to heal, depends on the stories we tell ourselves about who we are. We all have self-talk and intrusive thoughts, the degree varies. We all have unresolved issues from the past. No one is perfect but today's society and social media definitely make it seem that way. I want you to know you are not alone. Trauma happens in separation, healing occurs in relation. I am here to offer you that relation.
