Life is complicated and we all must navigate through our bumps on the road. No matter how large or small our problems may seem to others, they affect us in many different ways. My name is Nilda De la Fe and I’m a Florida licensed Mental Health Counselor. I earned my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova University and began my professional career immediately after graduation. My first job was at a physical rehabilitation hospital where I worked with individuals of all ages. These were patients in treatment for multiple conditions including spinal cord injuries, head injuries, strokes, multiple sclerosis, knee and hip replacements. This experience was the base from where I developed my theoretical framework. For the past 20+ years, I have worked with many individuals and families, each with their own unique challenges and views. Your first session with me will be one of building rapport and getting to know each other better. During this first session, I want to be able to understand your situation and discuss some goals for the short and long term. I believe that psychotherapy is a two-way relationship where your feedback and collaboration is necessary for a successful outcome. I want you to be able to take from therapy more than just relief from your current situation. I want you to be equipped with skills you can use at other points in your life.
