Hi! My name is Lori and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor in New York. I have over 20 yrs of experience as a mental health and substance abuse counselor. I have worked in inpatient clinics, outpatient clinics and college counseling centers. My specialty is working with college students and young adults who are anxious, depressed, scared, overwhelmed, have relationship issues, and are unsure how to move forward! I am a LGBTQAI ally. I will guide you through processing and understanding your emotions and anxieties. I provide direct reflections to help you explore healthy vs unhealthy thinking patterns. We will then develop a plan that aligns with your goals and balances your mental health. My speciality is also working with individuals struggling with addiction whether it be to drugs, alcohol, gambling, eating, video gaming etc. I view addiction as behaviors we do to the extreme that are causing us problems. I meet you where you are and explore what you want to be different. We will explore your motivation to change, barriers and fears of changing and create a solid plan to move forward.
