Leo Bowman
Life can be extremely difficult to navigate at times, especially when going through major life transitions or struggling with mental health. The combination of these two things can affect our well-being. Participating in therapy can help to guide you through the waves of life. I often describe my approach to clients as we are riding in a boat together, you are steering the boat but I’m in the back and can help to be your guide. Together we can navigate the waters of what life brings or what has been floating to the surface that has become an obstacle. In 2019, I graduated from the University of Louisville with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Now, as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), I have been working in individual practice/multidisciplinary practice for five years at the Trager Institute Optimal Aging Clinic in behavioral health. I primarily work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, LGBTQ+, gender identity. and Conversion disorders such as psychogenic non-epileptic seizures. I focus on adults, using cognitive therapy to help my clients think about the issues they’re facing from a different lens. By changing the way you think, you can feel empowered to enact great change in your life. I also use a trauma informed approach. I also use solution focused therapy approaches to help guide you in making goals and objectives to reach solutions and create change.
