Heather Dix
My approach would be to help you learn ways to deal with present circumstances, gain insight from your past, as well as hope for the future. I like to assess you as a person holistically and work with you to balance all areas of your life. I graduated in 2005 with a B.A. in Psychology at Iowa State University and then in Decemeber of 2008 from Denver Seminary with an M.A. in Counseling. I gravitate toward an Eclectic approach to counseling which includes various interventions from (CBT) Cognitive Behavioral, (DBT)Dialectical Behavioral, and (TBRI) Trust Based Relational therapy. I'm interested in integrative holistic health and nutritional natural mental health support. I have worked in a private practice setting as a Licensed therapist for 10 years doing in-office sessions and now strictly telehealth since 2020 seeing individual teen through adult clients dealing with anxiety, depression, life transition and relationship issues. We all have areas to grow and improve in ourselves and our relationships. I see our lives as a tapestry of the good and the bad and all our experiences woven together with the grace of Jesus. He gives purpose in the hard times when we are hopeless, freedom from our self-inflicted shame and false beliefs, grace in our mistakes, and healing for our emotional wounds. I treat clients from all spiritual and theoretical backgrounds and I would be honored to be your teammate on this counseling journey.
