I also utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support clients with learning and developing skills for mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. I am also a Certified Sexual Offender Provider and utilize the Good life model to support clients and their families. My approach to therapy is client-centered: clients are the experts in their lives and determine the direction and depth of therapy. Through a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, she draws on multiple treatment modalities to guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their. I currently works with clients who are affected by grief, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, substance use, sexually reactive behaviors, and sexually offending behaviors. ASD, bipolar, borderline personality, ODD, relationship challenges, individual, group, and family work. I want my client to feel heard and valued. Many of my clients will say that they feel heard, supported, and respected. Seeing the many challenges of the students I used to work with as a teacher paved the way. I wanted to support clients in being able to find and identify their unique purpose in life. Seeing my clients reach their goals is rewarding. I am an Humanistic/Eclectic and I do utilize the utilize the person-centered approach, with the client being the guide. I work with clients to identify the basic needs that they are missing in their lives. I also work with clients to identify their desired outcomes. The first session is where the therapeutic relationship begins. I want clients to feel heard, but also, this will be a time when they are being assessed for strengths, weaknesses, and what brought them to therapy. During this session, I want my clients to ask questions and to make sure they are comfortable with working with me. I look forward to working with you. Calm mind, calm thoughts... Brenda
