Barbara Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of VA with over 30 years of experience working with individuals challenged with emotional issues, grief, loss, and life-altering and changing experiences. Being human is universal, but how one copes and works through difficult experiences is unique. I have worked with many people of all ages: children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in a variety of settings with differing challenges. The bottom line is that we all struggle, and we all deserve an opportunity to grasp the strength inside ourselves and to empower ourselves to move in ways that are more productive, more life-affirming, and more accepting of who we are and where we hope to go. I am currently accepting the following insurance in VA: Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, United/Optum, Optum Veteran's Affairs to include a few. I utilize methods that suit each individual while addressing their needs, but also stretching comfort zones, which is how we break out of our routines that perpetuate the difficulties we experience.
