Angela Grant
Angela Grant is a native of Warner Robins, Georgia and is currently employed full-time with the Georgia Department of Corrections where she works as the Manager of Leadership Development in the Facilities Division at the agency’s headquarters located in Forsyth, Georgia. In this role, she is responsible for the training and development of Deputy Wardens, Superintendents and Wardens for the state of Georgia. Prior to her current position, she was the Manager of the Special Projects Unit, an elite team of veteran Correctional Professionals who are responsible for the implementation and oversight of special projects and programs in state prisons that come from the Commissioner’s office. Angela Grant rose through the ranks in Corrections and served in such roles as a Correctional Officer, General Population Counselor, Mental Health Counselor, Mental Health Director, Prison Rape Elimination Act Coordinator, Deputy Warden of Care & Treatment and she served as a Warden at both Emanuel Women’s Facility and Pulaski State Prison. Angela is also a Mental Health Counselor. She currently works part-time counseling at-risk youth and counseling women who have experienced trauma as a result of domestic violence, addiction, and other mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. She’s been in private practice since 2018. Ms. Grant has a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, both from Fort Valley State University. She is a Post Certified Instructor, a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified ACA Auditor. She holds memberships in the American Correctional Association, Southern States Correctional Association, National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, and the Houston County Family Violence Task Force. She’s a Silver Star and a life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is an active member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she is the Founder and Coordinator of the “Village Project”, an initiative that provides educational, social and life skills workshops to at-risk youth in the community.
