Amy Smitke
Life can be a challenge, both positive and negative. At times we may not know how to help ourselves become unstuck or how to work through life and asking for help can be difficult. As human beings, we are designed to make connections with others through shared experiences but a great appreciation of our differences. I use a strengths-based, person-centered approach. I have worked with clients from all walks of life and in various settings and hope to work with you soon. I enjoy empowering my clients to live their best lives through counseling and coaching. I conduct drug and alcohol assessments for court and legal proceedings. Identity is truly an underlying factor in many issues of those who seek treatment are facing whether that be substance use disorders, eating disorders, couples/marriages/relationships, adolescents and adults, many mental health disorders mild to severe (anxiety, depression, etc), self-esteem, career choices, culture, orientation, or trauma. I am an experienced & passionate Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory Designation. I have a Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University. I have demonstrated positive outcomes with anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, and addictions. Clients have told me that they feel as if they are having a conversation, not a therapy session. I am doing tele-therapy only. I not currently have in person sessions available.
