Hello, I'm Amy, and I look forward to working with you! I know that therapy can seem daunting and the thought of talking to a complete stranger about your life might be uncomfortable. All of those feelings are completely natural, and it is my goal to provide a safe and engaging therapeutic environment for you throughout the process. You will always be in the driver's seat of your treatment. I will partner with you and operate as your navigation guide. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Ohio and a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kansas. With 20 years of experience working with individuals across the lifespan, I bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to our sessions. I obtained my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Social Work from Aurora University in Illinois in 2002 and 2003. As a Neurodivergent therapist, I have always been drawn to and supportive of other humans who color outside of the lines. In 2015, I obtained a specialized certification in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to practice in a multitude of environments including school-based settings, in-home intensive family treatment, crisis care, community mental health, private practice, residential, geriatric care, and federally qualified health centers. My experience spans urban and rural settings, working with at-risk and underserved individuals. I specialize in helping individuals manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism, PTSD, mood disorders, women's issues, geriatric-specific issues, and many others. As a proud LGBTQIA+ ally, I will always provide a safe space for you to be yourself. Raised in Ohio, I am a lifelong Midwesterner and an avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan (Go Bucks!). At home, I have a teenage daughter and a rescue pit fur baby named Luna. Over the past year, I have been focusing on wellness and self-care, and I am a huge proponent of the mind-body connection. I also tend to get a little carried away with true crime documentaries. I love learning new things, and I am sure I will learn from you! If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to support you on your journey. Let's work together to navigate the challenges and celebrate the victories along the way.
