"Tara Alexander, LCSW, is a highly experienced clinical social worker with over 30 years in the field, specializing in anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, grief, and men’s mental health. She has extensive experience working with marginalized populations, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ individuals, military families, and the Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities using American Sign Language. Tara believes the best therapy happens when there is a strong connection between client and therapist, working together as a team. Clients describe her as down-to-earth, engaged, and approachable—“like talking to a real person.” She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual’s needs. With a background as a college professor and recipient of multiple teaching awards, Tara brings both depth and warmth to her practice. Outside of work, she enjoys biking, paddleboarding, hiking, and martial arts."
