Lousie Smith
Louise worked as a professional actor in NYC from 1978-94. She became the theater professor at Antioch College where she worked until 2008. In 2004, she began her studies at University of Dayton as a LPCC, and graduated in 2008. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings including on an ACT Team with people with severe diagnoses; as a therapist in a federally qualified health clinic, and in part-time private practice. In addition to UD, she received training at the C.G. Jung Institute in Chicago two -year Jungian- informed Psychotherapy Program, and at the New York Zen Center one -year program in Foundations of Contemplative Care. Her clinical interests revolve around loss, grief, life transitions of all kinds; illness, relationships, and identity. She volunteers at Dayton Correctional Institution, a women's prison in Dayton Ohio-teaching meditation once a month. She continues to be involved making theater, and is a Zen practitioner.
