Hello, I'm Brenda Kemp, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate their healing journeys. I hold a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision and a Master of Science in Community Counseling from Mercer University. My professional background is diverse, having served as a director for a grassroots community program, a regional director for a mental health counseling center, a family counselor at a Cancer Wellness Center, VP of a foster and adoption program, and a Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC). In my practice, I incorporate a variety of therapeutic approaches including expressive art therapy, mindfulness, Bibliotherapy, Psychodrama, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. These methods allow me to tailor my approach to each individual's unique needs and help them on their path to healing. I am particularly passionate about understanding how trauma impacts life choices and finding ways to help individuals heal from past traumas to live authentically. I have developed and facilitated workshops on topics such as ambiguous loss, multigenerational connections, identity issues, mindfulness, becoming your authentic self, attachment disorders, and family displacement due to violence.
