Measurement-Based Care: Getting Started
Measurement based care (MBC) has been shown to improve the therapist-client relationship, better engage clients into the treatment process, and improve therapy outcomes. Although we hear about MBC quite a bit lately, if this has not been a core aspect of your practice, you might be wondering if it is more than just providing assessments to your clients during care. In fact, much of the power of MBC is that it goes beyond traditional outcome based approaches. The full impact of MBC occurs through thoughtfully collecting, tracking changes, collaborating with clients through curiosity, and using the information gained through measurement to guide the person-centered treatment path.
In this course, review the core aspects of MBC that go beyond the use of a measure in practice and learn the skills tools to incorporate MBC in your own practice. You will be provided with worksheets to start planning out how you may implement MBC, be provided with sample conversations to hold with clients when beginning measurement in practice, and set your own goals for implementation.
