ACT for Clinician Self-Care

About the Course

Therapist burnout impacts both therapist well-being and client outcomes. In order to control feelings of burnout, clinicians often leave meaningful jobs with clients they care deeply about. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a behavioral, experiential, mindfulness-based approach that focuses on helping people change their response to thoughts and feelings, rather than the thoughts and feelings themselves. This means that instead of trying to eliminate stress, ACT helps clinicians cope with stress while reconnecting with meaning in their clinical work.
