Virginia Nielsen
I have been working in the mental health field since 2010. I began working with many clients with developmental disorders and Autism; teaching life skills, and behavioral management. In 2012, I started working with children and families within a home and community setting. Teaching behavioral techniques/plans, coping skills, parenting techniques/skills, and assisted with 504 plans with school districts. I finished my master’s in clinical, mental health counseling degree in 2016, and began working with adults, running groups, and completing intakes. I have experience working with addictions, depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and personality disorders, but I can work with most diagnoses. In therapy, I use many different modalities. I most commonly use person-centered, CBT, behavioral therapy, ACT, Biblical counseling, motivational interviewing, and art therapy. I provide services and therapy based on the client’s individual needs and culture. I use assessments every three months to monitor progress along with client surveys.
