Mateo Ayala, LPC has been a counselor since 2017. He has worked in mental health hospitals, substance and alcohol treatment centers, county jail, and private practice companies serving a variety of social and economic classes.
Mateo has had a focus on depression, anxiety, bipolar, substance and alcohol abuse, and trauma therapy. The main focus of the trauma therapy has been sexual assault.
Problems are not the problem. Problems are a part of life, though sometimes when we try and fix a problem we make it worse. When helping a person work through a problem, we first must identify why this problem has persisted and you have not been able to resolve it on your own. This is not to pass judgement, but instead to identify the negative belief system you have developed around the problem that stops you from healing and moving onto the next chapter of your life or enjoying the chapter you are in. Sometimes facing demons resolves the problem by over riding fear, while other ways of addressing the problem might be learning new perspectives that free you from old ways of thinking. Gaining tools to fix yourself, while learning about yourself (the good and the bad) is the goal of counseling.
We will address mental health, physical health, nutritional health, and spiritual health in our time together so that you can strengthen the systems in your body that deal with stress and problem solving, so that you can move closer to living the life and being the person you want to be.
