Lawrence Coleman
Hello, I'm Lawrence. Life has a way of throwing us curveballs when we least expect it. It happens to most of us, if not all of us. The difference between the two groups might be the tools we have in our toolbox at the time to deal with a difficult circumstance. This is when it is helpful to reach out for an extra set of eyes or point of view to aid in finding a clearer path to move forward. I can help in navigating through your mental health journey, and together we can learn how to manage the challenges you are facing. In 2008, I graduated from the University of Denver with a Master's in Social Work and later became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Addictions Counselor. I have worked as a counselor in the Air Force, Career Development Organization, and recently in a Residential Treatment setting working with youth and young adults experiencing homelessness, depression, trauma, PTSD, and career development. I also worked with adults and families. As a veteran with over 20 years of active duty service, I am familiar with many issues veteran families are facing today. My counseling style is eclectic, compassionate, interactive, and engaging, using cognitive therapy to help my clients think about the challenges they are facing from a different point of view. I am a Christian and capable of counseling from a Christian perspective. I will always vow to do whatever it takes to establish a warm, trusting relationship in which you feel heard and break down the wall between where you are now and feeling well. Together we can work to help you return to the place where you want to be. Remember, when you replace the "I" in illness with "we," it becomes "wellness." - Malcolm X. Sometimes you just can't work it out by yourself. Call now and let's get started. “I saw the angel in the marble, I carved until I set it free.” - Michelangelo
