Gretchen Law
Gretchen has a wide range of clinical experience, in in-patient and out-patient treatment settings and in evaluating psychiatric patients in the ER. She was the Senior Social Worker on the adult unit of Yale Psychiatric Institute for a number of years before founding and directing a residential treatment program for young adults in New Haven, CT. She was an adjunct faculty member at the Yale School of Medicine for 13 years with a specialty in Community Psychiatry. As a clinician she is warm and client-centered -- enjoys individual, couples and family therapy. She is at home with persons of varying cultures, races, genders, ages and people from all socioeconomic backgrounds. She employs goal setting strategies with her clients utilizing a variety of clinical strategies. She takes her clients' issues very seriously -- is relaxed, supportive and has a good sense of humor. Gretchen's avocation is playwriting and she has had her plays produced Off Broadway. Her plays largely revolve around themes of racial justice. She loves to cook, her family, her friends and her 2 grandsons.
