Hello, I'm Charity, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 19 years of experience in mental health and social services. My journey in this field has been deeply rooted in my passion for helping youth and their families navigate their paths towards healing and growth. I believe in meeting you where you are in your journey and building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect.
I began my career in youth mental health in 2005 and have since dedicated myself to providing quality and compassionate care to children, teens, and families. I earned my BA in psychology from Purdue in 2006 and went on to complete my Master of Social Work degree at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis in 2019. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with youth and young adults in various settings, including group homes, secure residential facilities, foster care, wrap-around services, community mental health, school-based behavioral health, and outpatient therapy.
My approach to therapy is flexible and tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, family, and individual. I utilize multiple therapeutic approaches and interventions to ensure that the care I provide is as effective and supportive as possible. In addition to my work with youth, I have extensive experience working with adults, including parents of children with severe mental illness, parents involved in Child Protective Services, women experiencing perinatal depression and anxiety, and young adults transitioning into adulthood.
As a parent of a child with Down syndrome, I am particularly passionate about ensuring that children and adults of all backgrounds and abilities have access to the education and services they need. This personal experience has deeply informed my professional practice and commitment to inclusivity.
When I'm not working, I love spending time with my husband, three children, and our two dogs. I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, traveling, crocheting, attending church, and visiting amusement parks to ride roller coasters with my family.
If you're looking for a therapist who will meet you with compassion, respect, and a wealth of experience, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to navigate your journey towards healing and growth.
