Hello, my name is Barbara Sosa. My past roles as a teacher and school counselor for Hillsborough County Public Schools for many years, inspired me to become a psychotherapist. I am an inquisitive, honest, compassionate, authentic individual and counselor who strives to make a long- lasting healing impact in the lives of the individuals that reach out to me and that confide in my clinical skills and expertise for their recovery. My experience includes working in schools, crisis centers, community- based mental health agencies with a focus on life transitions, women's and men's issues, mood and anxiety disorders, as well as trauma, different types of abuse, grief and loss. I hold a certification in Complex Trauma Training (CCTP). I am also trained and certified in Accelerated Resolution therapy, which also employs the technique of bilateral eye movements, just like EMDR.
