Hi there! My name is Ashlee King and I am a licensed independent social worker. My favorite part about being a counselor is being present during sessions to support my clients 100% and to help them identify with their true selves. There has never been a promise that life would be easy but with someone who will truly listen to us and help us to develop our skills we can find joy, fulfillment in this life. I have a history of working with individuals in a community mental health crisis department, joining people of all ages and backgrounds during their most difficult days. It was my privilege to be a beacon of hope to many that did not feel it. I have also engaged in group, individual therapy sessions with adolescents and adults. My current full time job is working with children in their school as a therapist, assisting them in developing coping skills, social interaction skills to assist with concerns at home and in school. My sessions are client focused, I encourage my clients to set the stage for what they would like to work on, talk about during sessions. My primary mode of therapy is CBT, talk therapy but I am open and flexible to engaging in artistic expression activities amongst others to spark conversation and growth. I have a passion for working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community and also with individuals who have a trauma history. I have therapeutic skills but I don't have a lot of training in working with individuals with substance use disorders. I am comfortable engaging in therapeutic sessions with individuals not in need of an intensive substance use program. Every person finds different qualities which draw them to connecting with a therapist. How do we determine which ones to display?

Rather than make specific provider recommendations, we present options and information so you can make an informed decision on what provider best fits your needs. Where we have multiple participating providers, we present multiple options (and where we don't, we prioritize adding more options to our site over time). We present providers whose capabilities, insurance coverage, availability and other attributes best match your stated needs. If many providers appear to equally meet your needs, we display a selection of them at random. Our decision on which participating providers to display is never impacted by the amount of fees we receive from them.

What causes us to remove providers from our site?

We require that providers meet all licensing requirements of states where they offer services. If a provider loses their license, they are removed from our site for that state or service. We also seek feedback from users on providers they find on our site. We investigate significant negative feedback and remove providers if we conclude that to be appropriate.
