The Mental Health Competency 1 for Educators course is the first course of the Mental Health Competency for Educators Series and serves as the introductory course. The main topics of this course include a discussion on the range of severity of mental health issues, their impact on the educators’ community, and an explanation of the dangers of stigma regarding mental health. Completing Mental Health Competency 1 for Educators will take approximately 50-70 minutes of continuous learning time. The course was created using up-to-date statistics from governing bodies and relevant scholarly articles. The instructional design is learner-focused and approachable to nearly all individuals with an interest in improving their mental health competency.

NOTE: We recommend completing Mental Health Competency 1 for Educators before taking any other Mental Health Ally for Educators Series courses.
