About Dr. Erin Engle

Dr. Erin K. Engle is a licensed clinical psychologist and Clinical Director within the Department of Psychiatry’s Faculty Practice Organization at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City. 

Dr. Engle is co-chair of the Well-Being Committee in Psychiatry and is committed to promoting well-being and related values within her department and the greater academic medical community for faculty, staff, and trainees. 

She teaches medical students, supervises predoctoral psychology interns, and co-directs training for the Psychiatry FPO Adult Fellowship in Mood and Anxiety Disorders. As a clinician, Dr. Engle provides individual and group psychotherapy to young adults and adults, integrating mindfulness and a skills-based, cognitive-behavioral approach. 

She is trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and calls upon this and her intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy to incorporate mindfulness-based approaches into her clinical care. Dr. Engle completed her Master’s degree in Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. 

She completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology within the Virginia Consortium Program (The College of William and Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk State University, and Old Dominion University).
