Methodology & Research
Our research begins by cultivating partnerships with subject matter experts from academia. We work hand-in-hand with university authorities who have spent their careers developing, testing, and implementing evidence-based practices. These partnerships are critical to our research and methodological strategy as it lays the foundation for ensuring science-based principles in everything that we publish. Our work with our academic subject matter experts is iterative and collaborative, ensuring our training development process is inclusive and comprehensive of multiple theoretical orientations. Put simply, our authoritative experts bring rigor to our online learning platform.
Our clinical team conducts extensive research investigating and exploring quantitative and qualitative empirical journals, scholarly textbooks, white papers, and specialized curated research distilled from key partners like the American Psychological Association, the National Association of Social Workers, the American Psychiatric Association, and so many others. This approach systematically guides our step-by-step process of bringing evidence-based clinical content and instructional design to our state of the art learning platform.
Recognizing the central role of cultural factors, we ensure research-informed content about race, ethnicity, diversity, socio-economic issues, and life experiences as a cornerstone of our research and methodological approach. Psych Hub’s online training ensures clinicians and other gatekeepers are well-versed in culturally-sensitive issues allowing them to overlay cultural humility and diverse cultural variation in the execution of evidence-based care. We are committed to advancing culturally-relevant, evidence-based practices on our learning platform.
Psych Hub’s model is centered on the intersection of clinical expertise, adult learning theory, and instructional design principles. Our learning platform brings together these three lines of research to produce best-in-class education and tools that are empirically validated. We focus on teaching the practical application and execution of evidence-based practices, thereby ensuring our content delivery is learner-led, relevant, and interactive. This type of task-based approach leverages the most up-to-date instructional design methodologies to organize pedagogical scenarios alongside creative storyboards and blueprints to produce extraordinary learning experiences.
Continuous Evaluation and Assessment
Our research methodological approach is built on a commitment to continual improvement. With this in mind, we invest in data collection from our learners about knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes towards the delivery of evidence-based practices. We use this data to continually improve our learning platform. We also proactively assess our products through the use of pilot testing to validate user experience and to ensure fidelity before we deploy content. Our rigorous approach to evaluation and assessment ensures that our learners receive the most up-to-date, relevant, and valuable content available anywhere.
Scalable and Widely Accessible
Our goal is to transform the mental health ecosystem by using innovative technology to advance the scalability, and thus the accessibility, of clinical content on evidence-based practices through an online learning platform. When clinicians and other gatekeepers are able to deepen their practice skill sets by engaging with a learning platform that adapts to their needs, we will be better suited to meet the mental health, suicide prevention, and substance use challenges facing our society. Our philosophy builds on the existing research about improving access to care by training providers on the delivery of evidence-based practices. We also aim to do this by equipping other important gatekeepers in the ecosystem (e.g. coaches, peers, community case managers) with the knowledge and skills to engage proactively and confidently on issues related to mental health, substance use, and suicide prevention.
